That is NOT the way things should be.

  1. The man should typically be the protector.

  2. It's a livable burden to carry around a heavy multitool in my pocket that I use regularly. I can't imagine carrying around a much heavier tool that I don't even use - just because some people can't be civil.

  3. Rhodesia is now Zimbabwe, and is a very violent racist state for a variety of reasons. I personally know a brilliant teen girl in Europe who witnessed losing both her parents and Zimbabwe home to unspeakable atrocities and almost died herself - now in hiding.

  4. Extremes have lead to that point. Balance is what's needed - from the top on down.

When I used to carry all the time it really did suck. There is a reason I stopped. Though women don't seem to mind toting stuff around as much as men. If I had a purse I would be sick of it instantly.

I think the intent might be to brand the women as scary themselves so they aren't viewed as prey objects by the alternate population.
