Jewgle changed their algorithms. Search engines are pure and utter shit now without exception, and most of the alternative ones bother you with craptchas. All the LLMs suck ass as well, they write stories that are not supported by the sources (if they even give you those). Also, all websites have terrible web design. JavaShit is practically mandatory nowadays. I have so many questions but I don't even know how to find the answers anymore.
And it's even affecting the compilers of information now. The other day I was watching a video about the Giza site (namely this one, and the guy just says straight out that pictures of what he's talking about are hardly to be found on the Internet and instead he has to resort to showing drawings from some old book. Undoubtedly this is because of algorithm manipulation. So we have to actually physically go to Egypt now to show good pictures of some site because the web turned to shit.
I wish there was a version of Jewgle with the 2010 algorithm still available somewhere.
How do you find reliable information?

Captchas are likely the problem of VPNs. I don't see them much.
I have no problems with DuckDuckGo - though a year or few ago it was evident the CEO or whatever was compromised. So how long until it's useless is anyone's guess.

I've been getting gateway problems with my Projex.Wiki host for some reason lately and for a while now I've been thinking that instead of spending $1200/year on hosting alone I should save and buy a proper server as well as some serious backup and archive options (and figure out the bandwidth issues later). Also, I forget where (I've been having trouble with my Brave Browser restarting this week with thousands of tabs over 8 windows), but it was recently shared on Goat Matrix that my host was not the best in all departments.
$1200 / year is a fuckload, definitely not a good use of your moneys. I'm not sure how much you're hosting but I think you don't need to pay more than $60 - $100 / year.

It was a little over $100 when I got the second VPS last spring/summer.

Yes I saw that. I don't think that means they're holding back the other billions though, they never state that. It's kind of a generated number they give or used to give, but when you actually bother to check, you discover it isn't true at all. I don't know if there's documentation of what it was like 20 years ago but I doubt there were ever millions of results for any single search let alone billions. It must've gone on longer back in the day because the shrinkage of the Internet is a documented fact (there is shrinkage!). But yeah if there's a good jewgle still left intact somewhere it's hidden properly. They certainly won't hint at it each time you perform a search.
The only way I reliably get information these days is by interpreting the metaphors I find in my dreams.
