I wrote this a while ago in response to a news article about men being able to menstruate. It turned out they treated ftm troons as men.

When men can menstruate
The world is too absurd for me to bear
And it bears repeating now
I just can't take it anymore

This world is but a shell of what it used to be
What happened in the last ten years
How subtly common sense has disappeared
I was born into a world
Where yo-yos are the norm
And meeting people face to face
It puts the current era in disgrace
We are encouraged to identify
As gay or trans or queer or bi

You can be anything
Except a normal human being
Who does not seek a label but
Steers clear of things that he is not

Being different used to be
My thing till it became mainstream

Different people came in twos or threes
But now it is obligatory.
