Just like how xmpp.jp is very long standing. Perhaps it's to do with their mindset. Casio still manufactures the same watches they did in the '80s because they design / create things with the idea that it should stand eternally. I don't know if that's truly the reason but somehow I trust them to be competent. Actually that's not why that page has a separate section for Japanese servers, it's a website for learns for the Japanese language.
Interesting. I just watched a video on using Discord and CS:GO and Minecraft to learn language over DuoLingo. Maybe the person who wrote this page isn't a native English speaker. I just thought the phrasing was odd.
I was about to ask how did you figure out those servers are for learning Japanese and not just intended for Japanese speakers when it doesn't mention that. But now I see the whole domain is dedicated to learning Japanese. So then all of those matrix servers are related? The page really doesn't make that clear.
I think not even the Japanese servers are dedicated to learning Japanese. The website simply recommends people to expose themselves to Japanese as much as possible. They made a list of Matrix servers (more generally, not directly related to the website) and included a section of Japanese servers for people who practice their method, to see if you can communicate with Japanese people.
