my opinion is that runescape isn't really a rpg, it's actually the world's greatest economy based game. It's economy is so valuable that it's currency eclipses the value of some nation states. People have made playing this game their jobs and some people have made hundreds of thousands of dollars playing runescape.

The key to this game is it's tradable currency. Unlike other mmos, runescape allows users to trade items. This allows users to gamble, scam each other, specialize in specific skills, and even buy game currency with real money.

where the game goes wrong is that the owners of the game limit this activity in the name of fairness. they ban real world traders and ban users that attempt to gamble. if they did allow this the game would be so successful that it wouldn't need a currency. the owners could make millions just selling their in game currency to users like a crypto currency

that is why I want to create a runescape private server that allows real world trade and games of chance. it will allow users the freedom to play the game like it's a real economy. something approaching a libertarian runescape server.
