Marketers are sometimes idiots at what they do. They saw they needed a broader consumer base. They saw that more women were buying their car and wanted more of that. So they tried to make the whole brand girly.

But women who buy jag are not trying to buy a girly car, and women who want an actually girly car are going to be buying a miata or similar, a game that jag will never compete at without alienating their current base including women interested in not-girly cars.

They seem to understand demographics but not sub-demographics. And or they really went after the narrowist sub-demographic possible.

If I was jag and wanted to be increasing sales, especially among women, I would be advertising in the US specifically at blacks. Trying to increase the number of near middle aged black women with money who want the bad bitch aesthetic to associate my brand as the first brand to buy instead of obscure. And with the UK having a growing black population I'd be doing something similar in the UK, just swapping out the music. In the US hard old-school rap. In the UK non-sense noise hip hop way too much over-tempoed with random noises that avoid any correlation with time signature. Like random wistles n shit. But still maintain a hard visual aesthetic despite the music. UK niggers would eat that up.
