Truly great dreams.

Warning. This is rambling. But like just accept the journey man.

So I decided to try a new sandwich shop. There is an area near me where they decided to build some shops that have an awful location. But I saw one of them had gyros and kababs. So I thought I would give them some business. When I go in I see the place is 90% grocier and 10% food shop. But they are nice, and very Persian. The guy at the counter was having a 15 minute conversation with the customers that were already there. But I'm not in a rush. I'm here for new experiences.

Eventually they get to me, get me sorted, tell me what's good, and I order a lamb gyro. Then while I'm waiting the guy points to a plate of cookies and says I should try one. I try this almond one. It was genuinely really good. Then he pours me this cup of tea. I'm think and even started to say, "woah, I appreciate the gesture but don't you think it's a little late for that." But I don't finish saying that and remind myself there are a lot of cultures where refusing a favor is hella-rude, and I don't know if Persian is one of them. So I just a take it and drink it.

This stuff doesn't really kick in until I'm sleeping and I had the most self aware dreams.

The main one was basically I was given this game menu. And for some reason I was expected to pick two games, so a game within a game, and that was supposed to be significant. No one usually plays these games like that but for some reason I have to. So I'm thinking oh boy. I've got to play these games.. on top of each other, while being highly caffeinated, while dreaming. This is going to be nuts.

So I play this game where you are walking in a historic urban environment and you have to say something a black person would say for that exact location. It's like an easter egg hunt and there is this giant check list. Different things you are supposed to say at different locations. And not only do you have do memorize the line, the line are kind of nuts, you are supposed to initiate saying it at exactly the right time and deliver it with exactly the same style as expected. You should just know how to do it by virtue of being black. It's like a black people DDR or Guitar hero. It's supposed to be relatively challenging even for black people.

But because of the layered games I have to do it while wearing a suit of armor. Imagine matching 100% the expected movement and phrasing without tripping up while wearing a suit of armor, while being a white guy, while being highly caffeinated, while being in a dream!

I'm up for the challenge.

Now to complete this game technically you only needed to complete one of these. Just one, out of a list of about 100 things. But none of these are registering and I'm struggling to even find these locations because I don't know this city. And the game doesn't give you any feedback what you did wrong or even how close you were. And I can't exit the game until I complete one of then. It's a little frustrating. But I'm having fun with it. After all I'm a highly caffinated man in a dream playing a game within a game. What's not to like?

And I'm thinking the whole time. Hmm a game within a game. Am I going to be able to re-navigate to this after I wake up and have to exit the game. I'm going to want to share links to this game with others because this is awesome. I keep thinking about that, over and over, like it's important. Like I could actually share a link to a game within a dream. But I guess me sharing this is doing that. So the answer is yes, I can link to it.
