It's been a busy fruitful week.
Dinesh and a bunch of folks used the Lions' Den studio for the first time (besides my projects) for vocal lessons and practice (I think, as I left at the beginning).
Last Saturday in beautiful Malden Park all day we made fries all day for over a hundred (two?) disabled folks. Things can always be worse. Gratitude is usually the best mindset.
Sunday we cooked burgers and sausages for Christian young adults and teens.
Monday at Hakka I built a back door ramp. And built a giant back rack and am building a trailer for my e-hog.
I like freedom. I like my Daymak Beast e-bike. When I add my cargo thing to it, it will have a wide load. I was thinking of naming it "Free Loader," but reconsidered.
Designed a Canadian Fiesta! flyer for an upcoming event Sunday June 28. Gotta do one for Canada Day too, July 1. I've been gifted a huge BBQ that may be there for the former, and most likely the latter.
Tuesday, we lifted a driveway at one house and a sidewalk at another.
Wednesday, the Lions' Den we restarted with the first WEFreedom Action & Communications meetings in years. Long time coming and very exciting. Folks want the meetings but don't have much of a clue how or what to do. The catalyst for this is the proposed data center in Amherstburg. I guess I'm going to lead for a while, but it will have to evolve and spread out from that. I can't do all that organizing and prep, and work to eat, and do other voluntary work, and also develop my own content. Planning, organizing, delegating, and compiling info and resources processes will have to be developed to share and redistribute the burden from my shoulders to a collaborative core group - a board, or whatever you want to call it.
If I'm doing homework, I'm going to make them do homework. (Ask not what WEFreedom can do for you, ask what you can do for WEFreedom.) Years ago I wrote a lot of stuff on Projex.Wiki, specifically the http://WEFreedom.ca stuff - and few if any have bothered to read it. First assignment. Yes, it's long and painful covering as many variables as possible, so I need to revisit, summarize, and present a shorter version first. They want clarity on what we are about, what our goals are, and a bit more. I've already started new notes.
I'm going to compel WEFreedom folks to use SubMatrix.net and Projex.Wiki rather than Facebook. Folks are interested about LeverMind.net too - as I'd never discussed it with them. All of this local organizing can be a template for other regions to organize too. I guess I have to learn how to use the SubMatrix "party" thing.
Always like getting some new tools.
Thursday & Friday demolished a deck, dug up posts, planted new posts with cement. Next week: build the deck.
Friday night for Hakka I fashioned a metal brad hole t-nut pipe anchor plate with lots of holes and painted it. Today I'll mount and install it in their kitchen.
This morning, off to the Farmers' Market, then Hakka/Lions' Den. After the install I might try to work on finishing the big bench. Lastly, movie night.
Sunday a music video shoot at the old library from 3 to 6 that may or may not be a timesuck. Otherwise, got to organize the agenda and documentation for the next WEFreedom meeting, design some Lions' Den stuff, update my shopping list, and maybe visit Home Depot.
I aim to get folks on the Matrixes. It might take a while. Some of them are Luddites. Some of them are stupid. All of them have good hearts. Few of them are tech savvy. Be patient and be kind to them.
Always with the text posts, it says +3 but doesn't.
Then oddly my comment above instantly got +2?
