Basic was great. I forgot about typing in the ten lines.
I recall CRT monitor screens with material over the face of the tube. I don't think I ever used them, but they were sometimes switched on. They had an odd look to them.
I remember a book called "101 BASIC Computer Games" and it had typos and grammar errors in it.
