This is the result of H1B Visa coders and AI coding apps. Back when they had Windows 95 it was all US born programmers and it ran steady.
Gonna have to push back on that one a little. Windows 95/98 were very unstable and BSODs were a common occurrence. Windows wasn't stable until XP.
XP was stable, so was Windows 2000. If you like them, maybe you like ReactOS or WINE in Linux?
Don't really have a need for ReactOS though I like the concept. WINE and Proton I use for some apps / games, but I prefer native Linux apps.
It wasn't stable until you could run it on a Mac, with Boot Camp Assistant and/or Parallels. 🤣

Good, lol
If it happens to you root it with Linux. At that point you have nothing to lose. Except maybe loss of an OS where every action has significant latency.
