Google drive, almost as bad as Microsoft One drive.

My new 20tb drive arrives in an hour or few. But I just noticed that what I got this summer isn't at all what I thought, which I guess explains why it was only $260, not $2600.
ORICO 5 Bay USB 3.1 Type-C Hard Drive Enclosure - Plug and Play DAS Storage Enclosure I guess it's no different than my other multi-bay ports, just enclosed rather than open.

What was I hoping for? Something to RAID - but not running something like SnapRAID (I don't think) from the PC over the cable to the drives, because I may want to move the drive without reconfiguring the thing on another computer.

The thing about RAIDS is that it would be cheaper just to buy an old PC with as many bays as you can find to run your own TrueNAS (formerly FreeNAS) on it.

Last spring I bought a 5-bay DAS. I still haven't been able to even get one new drive for it. It's a priority now, along with a car, a Canon R50v, and maybe eventually that Chromebook thing x0x7 was talking about - all big ticket items. But groceries, rent, and all the little things eat it up - plus renovation supplies and other studio/Santa related stuff. I need at least two drives to start, then another DAS/NAS to put my older smaller drives in - and can take that to the studio.

Would love if that model she had were a little more affordable and easier to configure and share securely. I'd really like to set up my former life of hoarding so that I could share and improve it with some folks. Hoarding now? Ain't got time for that.
