Microsoft will throw it's weight around and browbeat everyone into submission again if and when they want, just like they did with every last version of doze.
I've never heard someone say: "I couldn't wait for this new version of doze, my PC runs so much better, and bug free compared to what I had before. Thanks Microsoft!"

But now more people are tech savvy than ever, more are aware of options, the options have improved, and the tyranny is more obvious.
In the early 2000s folks liked their Win2K and WinXP.
