My heroes.

Personally I like OnlyOffice. I think we should get behind recommending it to people new to Linux. It's a 99.9% replica of Microsoft office. LibreOffice is closer to 90% similar. But that 10% can be enough to make people not want to get out of windows. But once you drop in a perfect replica there is no excuse.

You are running the same web browser, the basically same office software, steam with proton making nearly all Windows games work and run faster. It's the same thing but it boots 20x faster, windows open and close without hang time, it's not spying on you, and updates don't get in your way.

So while I appreciate everything LibreOffice has done, when you swap it, it's the last piece to say Linux is undeniably better than Windows.

When LibreOffice is assumed to be a part of a noob's first exposure we can't confidently say that because you can't say that LibreOffice is equal or better to Excel. The second we swap it as the default installed application we're going to double the flow of people coming over.

Yeah but the advanced features/functions of Excel only a big business or accountants need. Libreoffice Calc is good enough for the home user and student who don't use advanced features/functions.
