I defiantly see November as a referendum on Trump's policies. A small flip to the Dems won't mean much but if there is a blue wave then the people have spoken. Same if it stays red, the people will have spoken.
You fail to grasp that even Republican judges are politicians, subject to impeachment. They do not want to support Trump, if it dramatically undermines their own power and prestige. For precisely the same reason Republican Senators are going along with the Democrats, so will Republican judges. They cannot afford to defy the people.
Oh, you never know, of course. However, the same principles apply to Republican Senators as to Republican judges. They fear losing the support of the people.
