Maybe we can get a sustained thread going.
If everyone posts 1-ish a day for however long people feel like it, it might last a while.
So I will start it off with The Cure - The Figurehead https://gvid.tv/v/u_Kw5azUu_4
Gvid or youtube, it doesn't matter. I just like posting to gvid since I own it.
Also posted in weird music thread:
Caroline Shaw - Partita for 8 Singers: https://youtu.be/Wj9wW9Z8R-4?si=IkIEikA85JRNg4XU
Kind of reminds me of that film we watched, Midsommar.
Reminds me of Merideth Monk - Dolmen Music mixed with Philip Glass - Koyaanisqatsi (Opening Main Theme), the rest of that score, and Powaqqatsi.
Baraka has a great score too, not by Philip Glass. Includes often trippy Dead Can Dance.
Basically, anything you watch/listen to can be trippy if you're on drugs.
Great suggestions!
Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention - 'The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet' (1966)
A mildly trippy music video. U96 - Club Bizarre
https://gvid.tv/v/pR26nzO4DNA
David Bowie - Station to Station
https://gvid.tv/v/ZpIhsGg2SJ0
There could be a whole Bowie sub-thread here tbh.
Started a collaborative playlist, including others' recommendations: Trippy Choonz Seems you can vote on tracks.
I can dig up a huge list of psychedelic tracks if you like - many from very unlikely pop-stars.
Off the top of my head:
Among so many more.
I also used to clip the interesting intros and outros (and sometimes middle parts too) of otherwise normal tracks not worth tripping to.
I mean the general goal is to stretch out the life of the thread, but ok.
My general goal is to see how much we can leverage the bump feature.
That was just off the top of my head, without digging in my archive.
I've got lots more.
Ween - Mutilated Lips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGSI9qoNjYk
That whole album is pretty trippy. Golden Eel is another good one. https://gvid.tv/v/rvLhmd0v7KQ

Shpongle - I am You
Classic!
ALL of their psybient albums are epic.
Also, all of their (Simon Posford and Raja Ram) solo work is top notch (that I've seen), often going by different names.
Not so much a song as a brain massage. You do need headphones for this one https://youtu.be/G1z0ELFAUpQ
Tool - Thrid Eye
https://gvid.tv/v/51fcG3sxvII
Tom's weather report went hard.
Much of Tool is trippy. We'd listen to them a lot at Burning Man. And their lyrics are profound - but you have to read them. I almost wish there were versions with clearer vocals - and versions without.
