Linux now. OnlyOffice is a 95% recreation of MS Office. You don't need to deal with LibreOffice bs.

Linux runs Steam better than Windows at this point considering the Steamdeck runs on Arch. You need fewer cores to play the same games because those extra cores are really just to handle Window's bad scheduling of other processes without interrupting your game. Because the other processes on Linux are better behaved you don't need 2x the cores to play a game without random latency spikes. Proton means pretty much every game is Linux compatible and runs better.

Switch now before the mandatory switch so you have a grace period to learn. There isn't a lot to learn to do the basic stuff people do on Windows but it's good to round up the time you need in any case. Switching now is pretty much the cut off for that though.

What's really great is when you open or close a window it opens or closes. Staring at a window and waiting for it to do a thing is not something a normal computer in 2025 should be doing.
