The alignment often makes me wonder how much we "free-thinkers" are also being steered.
So very often during the lockdown there were trends of "new surfacing information" - and often it was stuff they knew about for some time, yet it would trend among influencers. Same with deep politics, though less specific and less notable.
I can't trust the YouTube algorithm to give me what I want. It's easy to be distracted by time-suckage. So I have tab-groups.
Daily I check 10 must-see YouTuber's latest videos to be sure I haven't missed them, and add them all to my monthly "Analysis Unseen" playlists that is my main watch. Now that Rumble finally has playlists I'll need to migrate - and pickup many who were censored long ago. Weekly I have maybe 20-30 to check in on. Sometimes I check my DIY, Entertainment, and Monthly tab-groups.
On my PC I can see one or two algorithm recommendations in the bottom right corner that I usually ignore. Sometimes it hooks me and those get added to my playlist, as do recommendations from folks. If the videos are good they'll get added to my meta-topical playlists for potential reference or sharing. I need better tools for this.
On my phone I often get hooked the shorts and algorithm feed until I get wise and go to my playlist. I need to fix this.
Feature ideas for Matrix (no hurry):
ability to change sub labels (ie. once I posted to Can rather than Canada because I didn't know I had to click on the auto-complete pop-up)
ability to list and organize sub labels
chat timestamps
multi-subs (or essentially more than one meta-tags) without multiple posts
notice if something has already been posted (and the option to "re-set" the clock on it, along with by who - rather than just the option to re-post it so that you don't get multiple discussions)
option checkbox(es) to simultaneously mirror-post on LeverMind.net and maybe other platforms, however that may work (custom app and/or browser-addon to keep permissions with users?) May be worth an icon or notice to indicate that it's be mirror-posted and where. Aggregating response-comment notifications from multi-platforms seems much more difficult - or maybe just note the mail icon on each platform. Could be cool to see notifications via app or brower-addon icons.
user bookmark, flag, mark, or save noteworthy comments and posts (I like keeping notes. Maybe I should develop a simple note-making and organizing system for use on Projex.Wiki, though it's never quick or simple.)
user comment history, not just post history
user post history with options (check boxes?) to add or remove or focus on subs
Someone's been looking through my youtube history and posting from it. The alignment is insane.

I blame Al Gore's dancing.
