Movie night traffic isn't doing as well on Friday nights. Saturday's might be the way to go. But I also want to use it as an excuse to try daytime because I know that will work better for @LarrySwinger and Europe generally.

I was thinking about writing a DM to Larry asking what time he thought would be good specifically. But I almost want to do most of my DMs public because it's content and other people can weigh in unless there is an actual privacy issue.

So Larry. If we did Saturday during the day what time either in your time our my time were you thinking would be best for you, so I can at least consider it (with good likelihood). I'm pretty open to almost any time. I see pros and cons to both "early" and "late" as far as day time goes (my time). Earlier would do a better job at setting up a hang out environment. "Later" would likely see more traffic for the first movie, announced time. I'm really willing to trade either benefit for the other so whatever is ideal for you is probably a decent thing to try.

Is it worth trying tomorrow with late notice or should we wait till next week? Trying with late notice is as easy as going to a few sites and saying "Hey, movie!" I've found last minute invites work best anyway so it's not that hard to do something last minute.

If we do something it would be helpful for someone to break the tie on the poll https://goatmatrix.net/c/MatrixEvents/AGjU39ioUh

Really this is like a public DM to @Larry, but anyone can weigh in.

This poll adjusts for your locale.

The time from today works for me and sure re last minute thing if you find that works best anyway. Yes I support public PMs because I found anyway that the mail doesn't show the things you sent maybe it'd be good to implement that as well #suggestions.

Wait, but we watched the movie last night. I guess that's your today. Time has me spinning in circles. Or I guess this planet does.

But that was 8pm our time meaning like 2am for you.

In chat you said

now I have a feel for the new time ig
this would work for me

But we don't have a new time. That's what we're trying to figure out.

Oops my bad, I just saw my msg sent at like 4 PM and I read 12 for your msg, so I thought it was 4 hours ago at that point. The other guy came up with a time when the whole world was online 'member that? I think it's 10 AM for you, it's in time for Asia to be alive still. Do we even need to take Asia into account? Maybe west coast is more important, so it should be 10 AM for them I think meaning 1 PM east coast and 7 PM my time.

Well I was thinking if it would be beneficial to get some Straliens on this site. Might as well up the probability of it happening naturally.

We could give it a go. I think it's going to be pretty hard getting a lot of US to join. Especially with that being 7AM for California. It may end up dead but we don't know until we measure.

Maybe we Marathon some time. We'd end up burning through the top movies in the list pretty fast. I also integrated the poll into cytube so hopefully we can get better and faster resolution of what is a good movie vs not after the top of the stack is consumed.

I'm going to take your 10AM idea and run it past saidit chat.

I think you're cutting off Cali by making it start at 7 AM for them. Why not 10 AM for Cali and cut off the nonexistant 'stralians? Californians are more important.

It might also have something to do with the >30 year old movies many have already seen - or depend on whomever you're trying to invite. Maybe watching a movie isn't what it used to be. Anyone can watch whatever they want whenever. What else is in the mix? Is there a theme? Discussion points? Why are people here? Just to be entertained, to chat, to analyze filmmaking, politics, resistance, to support Goat Matrix? Sometimes I'm the only one typing anything. Sometimes nothing is chatted for a long time. I'll be multitasking and wonder if everyone has stepped away from their keyboard - if they're not on more limited phone GUIs. Maybe they just get into the movie.

I do enjoy watching a film with other people much more than by myself, with exceptions some films are better watched by yourself but then again those are the type of movies that are also well watched with Internet people. But what works best in my experience is when you're on a group voice call typing interrupts the experience. #suggestions
