Something came up that I didn't anticipate with the movie selection. Ghost in The Shell 2.0 is apparently a remake by the same studio that made the original. In a panic I decided to announce we'd be watching Hackers instead. But I realized maybe I was too hasty with a solution. So instead we'll vote.
We can watch Ghost in The Shell 2.0:
Pros: It might be interesting being able to compare the two. I don't know how similar they really are.
Cons: It will be the same story.
Or we can watch Hackers:
Pros: It's a fresh movie.
Cons: We'll never get to compare the two versions of Ghost in The Shell in close proximity. It isn't as futuristic.
In either case we will watch Colossus second.

Was Hackers (1995) the next up? It used to tie very well with The Net (1995) and Virtuosity (1995).
IMO, Blade Runner (1982) and Akira (1988) would be a perfect double-feature, and both are up next, plus on a very different vibe, Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970), would make a nice triple-feature.
Ghost is good, but not good enough to see again with the "improvements". The original Aeon Flux shorts would be far more interesting. Shame these live action movie adaptations were all duds.
I must admit that I voted for Ghost in the Shell originally simply because I like seeing a mystery element, but the description doesn't fully sound appealing. The puppet master kind of seems like a cool person, I don't want it to be reduced to them being the bad guy. I could go for hackers. These films are evenly matched lol.
2.0 is the same original movie but it has new added cgi effects and new audio. I haven't seen it cuz it sounded like a Star Wars type update. It might be cool tho.
Ghost in the shell is just a sweet story in a way. I'm not getting enough of it so far. Hackers doesn't have ghosts but nonetheless feels more eerie.
