When you post something you can choose to post it now or "post whenever". If you choose the latter, your post goes into a queue which uses (some unknown mechanic) to figure out when it gets posted. There is even a url where you can see your "whenever" posts that are still coming up. The only problem is, if you are logged out of the website, you can see the full content of everyone's posts on the whenever queue.
Oh, as far as I can tell the post whenever feature is helpful for when you want to dump a bunch of stuff into the site all at once but have it drip into the feed slowly. It’s also just kind of fun.
It also helped when the site was slower to make sure there was never an off day. Now that the site is more consistently active it isn't necessary. But it played a big part in getting the site health to a point where growth could happen. Otherwise we would have been locked in the slow period forever. Now that it is less needed I may reduce the incentive points.
