I don't see any obvious buttons to follow the different subforums. Also where can i see my post and comment history?

how do i follow communities here?

I think there's no way currently, but anyway it's 20-30 posts per day, not like it's overwhelming quantity :)

Also where can i see my post and comment history?

https://goatmatrix.net/u/kraken (button for comments is in the right column "User comments")

Tho that lack of comments each day is because of the confusing site, this kraken might never return. Don't copy everything Reddit did but do copy the common sense good things. Like being able to see comments lol. That link doesn't work, can't see past comments.

I do see one comment, though it's wrongly aligned to the right and easy to miss on first glance:

I fixed the CSS for that. But your browser might need a cache clear.

For the following, I guess me being slowed down on getting parties done hasn't helped. There is a lot of overlapping logic there. A follow is basically a WHERE IN filter driven by a select from a subscribed table. Maybe I should just knock it out.

Should the front page then be your subscriptions or should your subscriptions be another page? The way most sites do it is they give users a baseline subscribe list. I'm not a fan of it. It breaks the idea of infinit useful topics. But that means I have to nitpick what's in it. Posts made to most topics people post to would never be seen if 90% of people are looking at the default subscribe set. That's why I think the default should be all.

Or I could take the party first approach, get them to the point where users can make them, and then someone's subscribe set can be re-used by others.

Reddit had r/all but got rid of it recently probably trying to censor or hide the bad parts of Reddit they don't like, like non woke posts can't get to the top of r/all if there is no r/all . That can lead to echo chambers, not that that's new for Reddit.

It'd be good to have a choice tho.

Well, to be honest I got used to /all/new approach for small websites (under 100 posts/day), so it's not a priority to get a /subscribed page for me. But I guess it should be an all/subscribed option for front page - different people prefer different things.

As for front page being /all or /subscribed or /defaultsubs by default I guess the /defaultsubs approach is an anti-troll measure for when they suddenly come and post almost-rule-breaking disgusting things (and upvote each other) - like some trolls were attempting on saidit to post circumcision and turkish oil wrestling stuff, or Edward with his random shit.

So in short, I'm for "party first approach".

I don't like the default subscribe list either. It's better if you get to pick yourself what to follow. By default you shouldn't sub to anything.

And x0x7 recently created this, which shows the latest activity: https://goatmatrix.net/bump

Can't. Not sure why probably costs.
