I don't believe his claim that they are doing it only to "muck up social security." It sounds a lot like Harry Reid saying in response to Republicans wanted to back step on Obama Care that their only motive is to "kill women and children." That's some absolute hyperbole.
Also I'm OK with entirely gutting social security in about two years. The way I look at it boomers spent their social security on Israel. They could have not voted for that shit when they knew the government didn't have money. But they kept doing it anyway. What we should do is implement a smooth policy change. In two years all social security payments go to zero, and we reduce them starting now at the same rate until we hit that two year mark.
I disagree with the idea that they "paid into it". All money that hits the government is fungible. What they really paid was a tax. If they wanted an investment that was secure they could have advocated and voted for SS money going into private management. They could have done it, but it wasn't a priority for them. I'm not going to see any social security. Because they keep spending mine on their programs. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
