To quote Kamala, we are no longer burdened by what has been.
It's time to think fresh and decide what we want as a country. We can rewrite any standard. We can structure government any way we want.
But we need your contribution to ideas.
First off we are going to completely rethink time. We are going to base time on physical reality. The new year starts on what was December 21st. Every month is exactly 30 days. There is a 5 day (sometimes six day) period right before the new year that isn't considered part of a month.
There will be two forms of time standards that people are welcome to use. Both are equally correct depending on the situation. One is local apparent solar time and exactly matches the sun. The other is UTC. All phones will display both.
Speaking of phones, right to repair will be accelerated. All electronic devices that contain an operating system must make it easy to replace that operating system. If you can't control the software you don't own it. If a company wants to own a device that they've sold access to that is fine. But they are then held criminally and civilly liable for anything anyone does with their device.
The government will provide an operating system that is compatible with apple and android hardware that will make sure both forms of time are available (unless they want to support our locale's time like they do everywhere else). It will also distribute an official linux and bsd distros that people can use that will display both forms of time. As well as a Temple OS variant.
Other basic laws:
All forms of government corruption at any level results in the death penalty. Immigration, white or IQ>120. Copyright does not exist. All prescription drugs will be available over the counter. Building permits will not be a thing. It's your property, build what you want. If taxes exist at all, and if property tax is considered better than income tax (I think there is a privacy issue with the government even knowing your income), then the property tax is based on the land area and locale. Improving the value of land will not lead to more taxes.
Geopolitical relations: Will meet whatever customs standard other countries request to maintain peace. Will not let the UN dictate any domestic affairs. We formally recognize all separatist nations. We recognize Tibet, Catalonia, Donetsk, Palestine, Honk Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Hawaii, Kurdistan, Alberta all as independent nations.

We will also recognize any separatist movement within ourselves as valid and sovereign if it meets certain numerical criteria.
Once a year we will host a meeting of the leaders of all the nations of the world.
We demand to be represented in the UN, but as a policy we vote no on all resolutions and will not abide by any ruling or agenda.
Intelligence services: Unlike most nations our intelligence services will be transparent. It is meant to provide information to the people as much as to the government. It's job is to make all the dirt in other countries'public, without hesitation. It will gather the same sort of information that traditional intelligence services do. But if it knows it then everyone knows it.
Formation: It is our intent to propose the formation of our government to all counties within the United States. If we get a positive response from anyone in that county we will then conduct more comprehensive polling. We will do this in several counties. Whichever county polls the highest support for adoption we claim as the sovereign territory of the Goat Matrix Nation.
Do you have any other proposals for our new country?
I love this idea.
Can we officially recognize Israel's right to exist, with Israel's borders being defined as those described to Abram by God in Genesis 15:18?
If so, I can get us a lottt of funding, as long as we start this new nation in Northern Syria
You have to start with values. Months of 30 days with 5 separate days was the system the Babylonians use. We should oppose the Babylonian ideology of might makes right that still lives today in secret societies, so that'd be a reason to use another system.
Also, why use local time at all? Local time tethers numbers to parts of the day, but numbers are abstract and meaningless unto themselves. Therefore it should be perfectly fine if the day starts at 6 am in one part of the world and at 3 pm in another. We can have a truly universal time that honestly reflects the moment instead of the local angle of the sun (which local time doesn't accurately reflect either, so it's a big sacrifice for something that's still flawed).
Framing something as a right is a rhetorical device used to justify big government, as you are doing here. We should be very conservative with recognizing rights. Let the free market solve this problem.
Based.
Regarding geopolitics, we should in some way honour the Republic of Minerva even though there's no such nation now.
If it can be rederived twice and a civilization actually used it successfully then it must make sense. Makes more sense than our current system at least. We could also do 13 28 day months with 1 or 2 separate days a year.
Your points about the value of having universal time are valid. This is why UTC will be the other official time. Local apparent solar time is for lifestyle reasoning. It can accurately match the actual angle of the sun. That's the difference between local mean solar time and local apparent solar time. I think it is good to have a sense of time that grounds you to physical reality. Current time standards are a weak approximation to that and a weak approximation to universality. It's time to separate the two needs with two solutions. In conversation people can use whichever one people find most useful. But we should make a clean break with current nonsense.
I may have made it sound like it's mandatory. It's not. Providing an Artix Linux reskin (no systemd) is as simple and modifying one panel in xfce (just a config file) and then exporting an iso of that system. We may even get one of the existing distros to provide a distro flavor (sub-distro) for free and then we don't even need to host it.
I just want to make sure people have easy access to the two time system. If more apple devices end up rooted with an OS with less spyware on it, then that helps justify the labor.
Right. Especially we don't recognize IP rights. At minimum the ways in which IP rights get in the way of right to repair will stop. I guess my point is less about rights and more about what quantifies ownership and control. If your device, that you own and control does illegal things, then your are liable for your device. For example, let's say we have self driving cars. If you make it so someone can use third party AI then even if they use your software the driver is liable for any accidents that happen. But if you lock down the operating system then the distributor of the device (regarded as owner) is operating an AI system it is liable for.
Spending money does not mean you own something. It's just correlated that a money transfer often happens when there is a change in ownership. You can be gifted something and still own it. You can rent something and not own it. What determines if you own something is if you have full legal right to modify a device (and use and other actions).
You know I can be quite anarchist. I just believe in stepping stones. Your argument can be applied to anything. You could follow that premise to having no government at all. A right to security from theft? A right to not be murdered? We could turn our nose up at anything. I would in the long run. But humanity is at least many generations away from being able to live with anarchy. On the specific point of providing an open source distro for a few kinds of devices that fork existing projects, I think that's pretty light.
One reason why a pure anarchist state isn't possible right now is neighbors. Other countries don't know how to deal with such an entity. This is why the border will be run in a very un-anarchic way. It will be full authoritarian with an eye to appeasing other nations. This is seen as a security requirement. If you want a near-anarchic people with freedom and a minimal military to be safe you need to keep all the other nations recognizing you and happy. To the extent we develop a constitution that may limit what government can do it can be said that the border and the domestic affairs are handled by two separate governments. Ideally we'd like foreign governments to recognize both entities.
For example. If we legalize all drugs, including and manufacturing, both pharmaceutical and recreational (remember, no IP). And someone smuggles these drugs across the border, thus souring our relationship with the US and reducing the viability, the border government is not going to fuck around.
Taking this seriously ensures that we maintain recognition. It also increases freedom for purely domestic matters. The traditional way of solving that problem is to make restrictions on what people can do domestically to reduce bleed over to countries that have a problem with your bleed over. By minimizing freedom on the border we can maximize freedom domestically.
We can recognize that it did exist. But for it to exist today it needs to have a population of inhabitants that wish to be recognized as a nation. This will always be our standard. This is why Catalonia, Palestine, and Hong Kong are nations. Or at least countries. A nation is a country + an organization. I don't care about the history of any of them. We don't operate off of historical claims, just current claims. That's the problem with Minerva. Who lives there that is making the claim? But it can be in our history books.
Its territory doesn't need to be focused in one location. It can be spread over various. We should encourage land owners around the world the claim their land as part of the sovereign territory of Goatmatrixia.
But I want to make a physical territory. It should allow people to escape authoritarian governments. It can't do that if another government claims sovereignty over them.
But yes, for the time being it can be an abstract thing. People can opt to become early citizens and declare allegiance. When we get to a thousand or so we'll start looking at territory. We'll use the location of citizens who feel comfortable sharing that as a muse for the locations we will look at.
We will operate in stages. After we identify a few candidate counties we will do mass polling of their population. The one that has the highest percent support will be declared as the physical location of Goatmatrixia. We will not yet claim sovereignty. It is possible for an organization to exist in a location without having sovereignty. We will do everything we can to encourage citizens to move there and for more current residents to become citizens. We will continue to poll the population looking for the moment we cross the 70% threshold. At that point we will declare ourselves sovereign. If we struggle to get to a 70% threshold (likely without the following steps), we can do two things. We can start with a less populous county. We can also encourage citizens to move to one side of a county and reduce our territorial claim.
In the meantime we can create a thread that people can sign to declare themselves a citizen.
Can I come to your new country? I promise to shit up the place.
If you meet the immigration requirements then yes. Or if you are present at the time the territory is declared sovereign. That's the other way you can sneak in.
