French has to be worse than English. Funny how that was the Lingua Franca before English. But we could have ended up with Esperanto as the Lingua Franca. That one would have been a planned language and not had silent letters.

I think it's kind of right that the mutt language of English is becoming the international language. English will be changed by its new speakers and it will become even more of a mutt language than it already is.
