This is why I have a (perhaps misguided) hope/cope that the land claims happening in Canada have something to do with keeping real estate out of the hands of opportunist landlords.
IMHO, it's to create chaos, economic hardship, market and insurance uncertainty, and to delegitimize faith in the government in order to foment discord and pushback so they can claim more power to stomp the resistance - all under the woke guise of helping First Nations. /s/ManagedDecline, mismanaged on purpose.

They want 15-minute cities where people live in cubicals and businesses are 15 minutes away in walking distance.
We'll see. Condo prices are falling fast here in TO, even without a land claim.
