In all seriousness weren't you bombarded with commercials about 'shoes that breathe' during the '00s? Over here we were. Also it's not complete bullshit afaik. If layered clothes don't breathe you'll get very cramped, that's why you can't wear fleece underneath a pullover for example. In practice even the cheapest shoes breathe.
