I submitted the link-post but found that I was throttled due to post-limits on GoatMatrix. I tried again later, but timed-out for some reason. (My PC seems fine but WikiSpooks.com also times-out today, as it has for me for month(s), perhaps because of Canada legal bullshittery.) The third attempt timed-out again, but I refreshed WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net and found that all three posts seemed to have worked. I'm going to delete the latter duplicates.
I wasn't paying too much attention previously, but the last time it said +3, but none were awarded.
Points
As founding moderator of sorts, I'd prefer there be no bonus points of any kind for the WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net forum. Just the default auto+1 on any post and comment, as if the user voted their content (otherwise why contribute poor stuff you don't endorse). If folks wish to uncheck their content that's okay too, as minds may change. Regardless of ephemeral ranking, the purpose is for votes to clearly share what users voted for, and not be confused by short-term algorithm bonuses.
Separation
I'd prefer a complete cleavage between Goat/Sub and WEFreedom to separate the groups. This need not be permanent, but I think it may help in a variety of ways - such as confusing the local and freedom-minded feed with complex sci-tech content, confusion by mixing/clashing of unfamiliar users in overlapping communities,
Joining
I hope there may eventually be a default merge throttle to gradually trickle in and mix Goat/SubMatrix with WEFreedom content, and ideally user settings to customize beyond the default.
Throttling
Until throttling is deemed necessary, I'd like to remove it entirely from WEFreedom. There is MUCH information that we need to communicate about a vast number of topics, planning, and projects. Additionally, I aim to have "homework" and reference information easily and centrally linked for folks to read/hear/view before they show up to ACTION or COMMUNICATIONS meetings - and ideally all of this will be mirrored and organized in Projex.Wiki/wiki/WEFreedom.
Privacy
Until we get the group going and find out what the "voice" of the community is like, I don't recommend we overlap with SubMatrix feeds. We might want more privacy. They can sign up for SubMatrix if they want more. Naturally, I hope we will want to be more public about most of our postings and discussions, but I can't speak for all.
Public-Posts & Private-Posts
I hope this is not a big ask, but it might be nice to have the option of making public-posts and private-posts. Maybe those terms are not as good as they could be (not to be confused with private-chats and private-messages between select folks). Public-posts could be shared on SubMatrix feeds. Private-posts would only be accessible to WEFreedom folks. There's got to be better nomenclature for these. My first instinct is that it might not be good for the OP to be able to change a private-post to public-post or vice versa, but maybe it would.
Marking
IMO, posts should be distinguished by colour. Examples: public-post = yellow, private-post = green, goatmatrix-post = blue, submatrix-post = purple, pinned-post = red
Pinning
As founding moderator of sorts, I'd like to be able to pin some posts to the top of the feed.
Years ago I set up 8 WEFringe email lists (Announcements, Action, Fun, Global News, Local News, Planning, Outreach, Social).
Rather than 8 sub-groups, I'd rather make a monthly summary-post including linked sub-group developments worth noting.
Additionally, rather than the Reddit/SaidIt traditional sidebox, it occurs to me and makes sense to just make a pinned-post to cover all the introductory and critical information. This "Welcome to WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net" will likely be my next post.
There may be a few other posts, by me and others, worth pinning for whatever reasons, for whatever time-spans.
Hurry
There is no hurry until folks actually start using this forum. And even then, still no urgency. But these developments may help lay the ground for other communities.
Turnout
I printed about 30 introduction notices for the new Wed-Night-Meeting and new WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net forum for the Canadian Fiesta and Canada Day events. Few folks took them home. I have yet to make any online announcements about either. Wednesday is a meeting and we'll see how many show up. Then I can see what direct text-message efforts do - then Facebook. Then pamphlets in Druthers and elsewhere. It will be worth noting what is effective.
This is a powerful conversation that concisely questions the legitimacy of the King, Crown, First Nations, and authority in general - and y/our dwindling rights - without having to even mention voluntaryism or anarchism.
First thoughts
In no particular order, stream of thought...
Hiccups
Documenting glitches in my experience in hopes it's helpful.
I was logged in both GoatMatrix.net and WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net for this, the first link-post in WEFreedom.SubMatrix.net.
