I finally got around to watching it. I've put it off all this time because it honestly looked boring. Im 10 episodes in and its good I guess, its not great. I'm going to finish it, but I will never watch it again. Its kinda boring, barely emotional and I don't really feel anything for the characters. Sure, they flesh them out, but they seem plain.
There is other anime releasing this season that is mid tier izekai trash, but its way better than this. I want to know what happens next, I'm getting invested. They introduce an awesome side character right at the start and within 2 episodes you feel for the guy. And then they kill him. Its a thrill. Its emotional. I straightened up and went NO! Not that guy! Right now I'm just eating my frozen mango and non nonchalantly went to my wife, "they just did a really interesting boss fight where she made the boss kill herself" And that's been about it, 10 episodes in.
I tried several times to think of a logical reason why this could be number 1 on MAL, but I cant. I keep coming back to how everyone is just more retarded than ever, but I can't figure out how this would work, specially how things like live action marvel movies continued to be profitable for so long.

Look, I have a lot of negative things to say about my mother, but I can't due to having to respect her and all. But seriously, the world would be a better place without top teir boomers.
Good but not great is a pretty fair rating. I would give it some points for being a fantasy anime that isn't another isekai - such a rarity. There was a lack of ultra-cringe fan service scenes that I find take away from a lot of anime. The show has a cool angle - the whole incomprehensible difference between human society and an elf's sense of hurry. Overall yeah it was kind of boring. But different boring.
I just finished it.. It was interest and ok, but yeah. Boring. And when I look at the comments of the final episode, one of the most least interesting episodes, all the comments are like BEST EVER. THIS WAS AMAZING. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE etc etc.
I dont get it. It genuinely confuses me and that is a rare thing for me.
