And pot probably costs the economy less in terms of the medical harm of alcohol.
For a long time the argument has been "I'm not hurting anyone." Which is fair. But if we were to look at the externalized cost of marijuana vs alcohol, alcohol is way worse.
How many marriages have been wrecked by marijuana. Given the size of the US it probably isn't zero. But it's also not a lot compared to alcohol.
You have valid points. The USA used to have a prohibition of alcohol, but that led to bootleggers and speakeasies because the people refused to give it up.
Oh. I must have missed that history. You might be right. Wasn't his entire office created to fight the new existence of organized crime? Kind of ironic to say it doesn't exist.
The point is that it's a mild opioid. When you block access to mild opioids you get the market pursuing fent instead because it's harder to regulate because it's easily concealed. But that same property, that a microscopic dosage can OD someone, means the illicit drug market can't really keep track of it either which makes it more dangerous and harder to control lacing. And harder for users to manage if they get the direct drug.
Right. Just chase people to more concealable and harder to dose drugs.
The beer industry is suffering losses because people would rather smoke Pot than drink alcahol. Now that it is legal.

Funny how you end up with organized crime when you try a drug prohibition.
When you ban anything, you end up with organized crime selling it.
helps if you have a Gay fbi director blackmailed into saying organized crime doesn't exist.
Wait a minute. Hoover never said organized crime doesn't exist.

Um yeah he did

Teddy Roosevelt started it to investigate govt corruption and federal crimes that crossed state lines. Which makes sense.
Gay Calvin Coolidge put a 29 year old in charge of FBI, why?
They were given the jobs because they were gay, could be blackmailed. McCarthy exposed a lot of this briefly till he was stopped.
Is "synthetic kratom" easily concealable or easy to get. Asking, I don't know. And why would that be a reason to make it legal.

"Opioid like substance" lol sold in gas stations. Keep it illegal.
I'm one of the 1600 complaints.
For those who, like me, hadn't heard of Kratom before.
