The actual size of the Canadian armed forces is 68K enlisted plus 27K reserves. Of that, only 20–30% are in direct combat roles across all branches. So if we're being generous, only about 28,500 forces are trained to fight. Their brilliant plan is to add 300,000 civil servants who are trained mainly to file PDFs of government forms into databases. A more apt description of cannon fodder I have never seen.

I thought this idea was already ditched as an embarrassing mistake?

Least I heard they were "back pedaling" on it, but I don't know what that means exactly. I posted this on Saidit, so I thought it would be good to post it here for posterity. We can read it a few years down the road when they're sending Canadian boys back in boxes for the WEF's war.

With these numbers, I think our more immediate concern is having our military being absorbed by the US due to being a continental security weakness.

The article doesn't discuss who their supposed enemy would be. Who do you think spooked Canada?

Our PM, Carney, spent the last dozen or so years as governor of the bank of England and at the world Bank and UN licking boots in preparation for his installation. He's following orders from #10 Downing to throw us all away on NATO's upcoming Russian debacle, IMO.
