I actually want to do an absurd number of polls here. TBH part of the motive is they are very easy to link to and thus get us more people. They are also fun.
So I had an idea. What if I make a poll of polls. Then I can just go down the list and make polls at an even pace. But what if before I did that I ran a nomination thread. Then we can have, if anything, too many poll ideas. We'll see if that happens.
Here is my own spit ball:
The polls here are really designed to rank things. The cheese poll went great. Everyone wants to know what the best of something is. Half of all articles are ranking articles. And that's based on an author's uninformed opinion, and isn't even interactive.
Or more especially, what are some polls you want to do that you don't want to come up with options for and I'll do it.
I was thinking next of "What will 2026 hold for us?"
Besides having fun, it might also be worth making polls to gather information to archive in a post and/or wiki. I have some long unruly lists about Technology, Decentralization, Terminology, Freedom, Health, Action, Media, etc., and lots of other listicle stuff always needing reorganizing with enough scale.
Ages ago on SaidIt, I'd wanted to open-develop a story/screenplay/stage play/graphic novel with serious creatives. This would start with conversations about what might it be about, what elements to include, narrative structure, character development, choices, twists, etc. From the discussions polls could be cultivated to help narrow focus, eliminate too many options, and steer the creative vision. It might end up as bad as the movies-by-committee that Hollywood produces - or it might be transcendent.
GoatMatrix features, wish lists, and community ideas might be worth a poll. I can't imagine folks would want Jitsi, a video chat, but there might be ideas we didn't know we wanted or knew existed - or some common things. I'd like to hear ideas about action, alternatives, solutions, trade offs, compromises, prepping tips, survival guides for the Great Reset, methods to sniff out infiltration, corruption, and malfeasance, and ways to integrate and organize the local and global communities.
